Mike, you can use the same RTV and methods for making resin parts. My experience has been that you don't necessarily have to have as many sprues, etc. for resin. For a lot of parts you can just make...

great tutoriol .... I cast resin but havn`t tried metal yet ....Where do you get the metal ? another trick I learned when building the walls for the silcone is to use legos .......... they work...

you can cast clear parts using acrylic or polyester resins but it is difficult to get thin sections and no bubbles. You are likely to have better luck on windshields using vacuum forming methods......

Thank you for the reply Gary. I wish I knew more about vacuum forming. I've seen it done with custom plastic lisence plates but I wonder if it can be done on a small scale like one or two windshields...
